Dear Human Resource Representative:
Allow me to introduce myself and my purpose for writing to you. During the past year, my former employer (like NY State in general) has undergone severe economic difficulties resulting in dramatic staff reductions, budgetary belt-tightening, and a general slowdown in activity. These factors have contributed to my decision to look for another opportunity elsewhere where both the economic climate (not to mention the weather) and employment outlook are alive and thriving.
I have made arrangements to temporarily lodge with family members located in the Orlando area until such time as to lay down permanent roots in your fine state. I will be paying my own relocating expenses and will be available in July.
While employed at Northland Cranberries I maintained a high morale in a depressed market while displaying commitment and focus. I am a skilled and competent Laboratory Technician/Quality Control Analyst. I have an AAS in Chemical Technology and a total of 8 years in a variety of settings. I have worked both in production as well as and research development. I am accustomed to working independently as well as part of a team. I believe my ability to master new concepts and balance divergent functions while remaining quality minded and results orientated would be an asset to your company.
I would appreciate your time in reviewing my resume and welcome the opportunity to interview with you in the near future. In closing, I thank you in advance for you time, and would like to leave my prospective address.
