| Description |
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
To ensure the daily management of the Quality Assurance Department, develop, implement and monitor company policies and procedures relating to Food Safety, Food Security, Quality Assurance Programs. Responsible for SSOP, GMP, SOP's, HACCP/Recall and Traceback Programs.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Continously evalaute Quality System and submit change recommendations to Corporate R&D. Responsible for GMPs, food safety, HACCP and sanitation programs. A QA Mgr should spend a significant amount of time on the floor training and auditing.
2. Maintain compliance with SSOP's including daily sanitation of processing room and equipment, pre-op sanitation check and operational sanitation programs. 3. Enusures the proper staffing, scheduling, training, delegation of duties, disciplinary actions and annual reviews of the Quality Assurance and Sanitation Departments.
4. Prepare for and facilitate all internal, second, third and regulatory agency auditing and facility inspections, Complete and submitt corrective actions to auditing entity and also corporate R & D.
5. Maintain compliance with DMFP and customer finihsed product specs, special handling procedures and production monitoring programs. Implement site specific protocols and procedures referencing the Corporate Quality Systems Manual.
6. Continously evalaute Quality System and submit change recommendations to Corporate R&D. Develop site specific logs, checklists, etc. as required to meet Quality System goals. 7. Interact with customers on product development and problem solving projects.
8. Manage internal laboratory complying with Corporate Policies, EPA, OSHA and GLP (Good Laboratory Practices). Proper staffing, training supply ordereing, equipment calibrations and PM (Preventive Maintenance).
9. Manage the Finsihed Product Retain Evalaution Programs.
10.Manage the microbiological finshed product testing and environmental monitoring programs.
11.Prepare periodic reports for Corporate R & D dept. Weekly QA Reports & Raw Reports.
12.Maintain open communications with all Managers and Corporate QA to ensure that DMFP finihsed product quality processes are maintained at all times.
13.Interface with the General Manager/Operations/Maintenace Mgrs. for Qaulity Assurance issues and establish SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures), SSOP's (Standard Sanitaion OPS.) and Preventive Maint. Programs.
14.Act as a liason between internal operations, sales and cutomers related to any food safety, quality and food security inquires.
15.Coordinate and Manage the Pest Control Program, verification of services, maps, applicator license, chemical usage etc.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
MINIMUM: 1.College degree in agriculture, food science or related subject.
2.3-5 years previous work experience in similar position.
3.HACCP trained and/or certified, training and hands on skills in microbiolgy.
4.Computer literate: MS Office Products Word, Excel, Powerpoint & Outlook.
5.Excellent Communication Skills, both written and verbal. Ability to multi-task routine duties and projects is necessary.
PREFERRED BUT NOT ESSENTIAL:
1.Some knowledge of fresh fruit and vegetables, knowledge of food processing, quality programs.
2.Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.
